Are You Ready for Class Instruction?

From ancient scriptural times instruction in the things of God has been deeply valued. The Psalmist quotes God as declaring, "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." Ps. 32:8;

Religious education has been carried on in various ways century after century. Mrs. Eddy provided for it for her followers, but no aspect of it is quite so direct as class instruction as it is set forth in the Manual of The Mother Church. Through this class work the student receives, first of all, inspiration to fulfill his spiritual possibilities. Then he learns to organize his knowledge of Christian Science so that he can apply the Word of God intelligently to every type of human problem. His experience in class inspires him to look forward to certain unfoldment of the truth of being as he progresses spiritually. It also teaches him to detect the ways of evil, or animal magnetism, and to prove its unreality consistently.

In order to reap the benefit of class instruction in Christian Science one needs to be sure he is ready for this step. He should be certain his motive is pure. His desire for progress in the understanding of this wonderful Science should be deep and sincere, not only in regard to his own enlightenment but for what this can do toward helping mankind as he becomes more and more conscious of the truths that unfold with the instruction.
