A Good Guideline

Daily living often presents challenges in human relationships. Sometimes we are met with injustice, unkindness, misunderstanding, anger, impatience, and indifference. What should we do? A good guideline for daily living is found in the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans, where he writes: "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not." Rom. 12:14;

Mrs. Eddy writes: "At all times and under all circumstances, overcome evil with good. Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil." Science and Health, p. 571;

Evil, then, whether it appears as domestic turbulence—an irate wife or husband—or a grumpy boss, or an inconsiderate bus driver, can only be overcome by expressing good, by returning good thoughts and deeds for evil ones. And since Christian Science teaches how to understand both good and evil, following Paul's guideline should become increasingly workable.
