I am sincerely grateful that I attended a Christian Science Sunday School, for although I departed from its teachings for a number of years, the time came in my life when I needed to prove that " 'man's extremity is God's opportunity' " (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 266). Then I fully realized my help could come only from God.

I earnestly desired to join The Mother Church and a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. However, the fact that I smoked heavily was an obstacle. When I knew that false appetite has no power and cannot prevent a forward spiritual step, the smoking habit was healed permanently.

One Saturday two summers ago at our cabin I stepped heavily on a large nail protruding from an old stairway. Immediately I denied the possibility of accidents in God's kingdom, and also that there could be sensation, life, or intelligence in matter. My family, some of whom are in the medical profession, were very concerned and wanted to examine my foot. I assured them all was well, and
