Although I did not become interested in Christian Science for physical healing, over the years many serious and some "incurable" physical problems have fallen away.

One of the first of these was the healing of the effects of a paralyzed throat, which made it almost impossible for me to eat solids. This was the result of an illness when I was eight years old. It interfered with my schooling and with my employment.

After graduation from high school I became interested in Christian Science for help in overcoming a long-standing problem of lack and inadequacy. One day, while visiting a Christian Science practitioner, I suffered a coughing spell. Her clear declarations of the truth that God knows no medical claim or history, and that as God's perfect child I was perfect and complete, relieved me immediately. And the throat problem was healed. Ten years of suffering and fear were over. A few weeks later I had an occasion to be in the office of a doctor who had previously examined me. Upon his reexamination of my throat he was amazed at my complete healing. Then I recognized the effect of the practitioner's treatment and the power of God to heal me.
