If any of you lack wisdom (James 1:5)
To the ancient Hebrew, wisdom (chokmah) was among the most important attributes of God. Indeed, it was sometimes personified in the Old Testament (see Prov. 8), was intimately connected with the drama of creation (see Prov. 3:19), took hold through God's Word (Greek, logos), and connoted the basis of God's power and authority. The man of skill, reason, and success was always considered divinely blessed, manifesting in his dealings with others some degree of God's wisdom.
Let him shew out of a good conversation (James 3:13)
