"Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord," sang David...

"Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord," sang David (I Chron. 16:10). The keynote for my gratitude for Christian Science is my steady growth in knowing God. More and more this divine Science has shown me God's nearness, love, and power. Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 329): "If men understood their real spiritual source to be all blessedness, they would struggle for recourse to the spiritual and be at peace." Christian Science not only reveals this blessedness but shows us how to prove it—even in our most mundane affairs.

Once when I was filled with self-condemnation because I could never get my work done, I noted how long each of my tasks normally took. This seemed foolish; but when I did, I found my day would require twenty-eight hours in order to get everything done. That erased all self-condemnation. I prayed to see myself as God's perfect reflection, His complete child. I listened to God's direction to find a better balance for my life. I hired a woman to do my cleaning, although this didn't seem financially wise just then. But Christian Science had shown me before that I can do whatever is necessary and through trust in God the expense was easily met. Now, as I obey Love's instructions, I find my days flow joyously, with every necessary thing completed.

Especially helpful to me in this experience was my husband's reply when I asked, "When will I ever learn to do what God tells me to do when He first tells me?" Quietly, he had said, "When you're grateful enough for His direction."
