This testimony covering a period of nearly fifty years is too long delayed. As a small child my father placed me in a Christian Science Sunday School, although he knew little about the religion. He was searching for comfort from grief over the passing of my mother after a brief illness.

The truths so lovingly explained in the Sunday School have been a firm foundation, later reinforced by class instruction in Christian Science, for overcoming problems of fear in taking college and Navy entrance examinations; reversing dishonest business dealings which threatened our financial security; acquiring property both for business and home; healing a cracked vertebra when my husband fell on the ice; and many instances of protection at sea in our sailboat.

Two healings stand out as landmarks. The first was a fast healing of facial burns when a gas oven exploded as I reached in to relight it. Thanking God for my small daughter's protection, as she was behind me, I phoned a Christian Science practitioner for help. Turning from the phone, I began to repeat "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As I said aloud, "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all," it suddenly appeared as ridiculous, absurd, that a loving God could allow burns or disfigurement to happen; in fact, I declared emphatically, "It's impossible!" Instantly the burning sensation left my face.
