Recently I was thinking of the many blessings I have had and of all the things for which I am grateful. Above all, I am grateful to have been raised in a home where the teachings of Christian Science were put into practice daily, and also for having attended the Christian Science Sunday School from a very early age until I was twenty. Among all the healings I have had through the study and application of these teachings one stands out.
There were no major physical problems during my childhood and high school years. Then during my sophomore year in college I was in a serious automobile accident in which my head had broken the windshield.
Mrs. Eddy says in the textbook, "When an accident happens, you think or exclaim, 'I am hurt!' Your thought is more powerful than your words, more powerful than the accident itself, to make the injury real" (Science and Health, p. 397).
