The turning point in my understanding of Christian Science was...
The turning point in my understanding of Christian Science was a healing that took place during my third year in college. For several weeks I experienced an unsightly skin problem, as well as soreness that made it difficult to walk or move about.
I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. Together we prayed. We saw my completeness, purity, and goodness as the exact expression of God. I pondered many times this statement from Mrs. Eddy, which is found in Science and Health (p. 261): "Hold thought steadfastly to the enduring, the good, and the true, and you will bring these into your experience proportionably to their occupancy of your thoughts."
When this good was realized in my thinking, my face became its natural color, my body was free from soreness, and my hair and eyebrows grew back. This demonstration has given me a better sense of life, because Life is God, not matter. It has been several years since the healing took place, and it has been permanent.
