I am the Lord: that is my name (Isa. 42:8)

The Interpreter's Bible says: "Israel knows the name of her God; therefore she stands in unique and concrete relationship with him .... But the meaning is more universalistic here. ... It is Yahweh's revelation to all the world that he alone is God."

Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them (Isa. 42:9)
