Now Is New
How many of us really live in the present? Do we find each day, each hour, each moment, a new and vibrant experience filled with new expressions of God's love and goodness? Or do yesterday's arguments of fear, lack, or sickness darken our outlook?
In Christian Science, Mind is one of the names for God, and God is infinite, All. An understanding of this and of Mind's perpetual unfoldment of new ideas helps replace fear-filled thinking with confident expectancy of good. We can learn to say with Paul: "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." Phil. 3:13, 14;
To live in the consciousness of good, we must relinquish all belief in a discordant past. Man exists as an idea in divine Mind, and his true being includes no record of evil. Steadfast acceptance of man's eternal, perfect existence in Mind brings spiritual enlightenment and opens thought to Mind's ceaseless impartations of intelligence, inspiration, and progress.
