RADIO PROGRAM NO. 435 - Making Responsible Decisions in Business

[The participants are Harvey Wood and Scott Campbell]

Campbell: So many different opinions and predictions are involved in major decisions at work—so many pros and cons—that it can be a relief to leave it up to the stars, if you will, or find a way to avoid having to decide one way or another oneself. I know of people who read their horoscope every morning before going to work in an attempt to find something that will help them make a decision or even make it for them. Sometimes any decision seems better than none at all.

Wood: I know what you mean. Still, what is needed, as we all know, is not merely any decision but a sound one, which will strengthen, not weaken. One thing that has helped many to make such judgments is to face up to the challenge and look at what is really influencing all concerned in the decision.
