Christian Science was presented to me when I was desperately in need of healing. I had been a semi-invalid for about five years. After all material means had failed and I was searching for a more satisfying religion, I found Christian Science through the work of the Christian Science literature distribution committee of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. This teaching brought much comfort and new hope into my life, and when I started to read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I knew I had found the truth.

My first healing was instantaneous. After I had been reading-Christian Science literature for only a short time, I suffered with a bronchial condition. I was unable to lie down or to get any sleep due to difficulty in breathing. I asked a Christian Scientist neighbor to come to my home, as I wanted very much to know more about Christian Science. She gladly came over, and on entering my room she quoted from Hymn No. 144 in the Christian Science Hymnal,
