It is a pleasure to testify to the power of the truth as taught in Christian Science. Late one evening as I was going upstairs with my arms full of clothing, I tripped on my long dressing gown. I was about four steps down from the top when I went forward, face down. My mother heard the noise and came to help me. When I saw the expression on her face, I felt frightened. I had landed on my nose, and it was badly broken. My mother went to phone a Christian Science practitioner, while I continued on to bed, determined not to look at myself or make a reality of this condition.

Not many weeks before this, at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, I had heard a young acquaintance tell of injuring her leg while skiing at night. She had asked her friends to take her home and leave her on the sofa with the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. She read and studied nearly all night until she got her healing.

This testimony came to my mind, and I knew what I must do. I read Science and Health intently and searchingly, and in about an hour I heard a snap. An adjustment had taken place in my nose. Feeling a sense of contentment, I turned off the light and went to sleep.
