Choosing the Right Way
If first things are put first and the infinite divine Mind, God, is accepted as the source of one's information and understanding, misunderstandings and problems, regardless of their nature and degree, may be resolved in the one and only right way: by knowing God as He really is, and man as he really is in his relationship to Him.
God revealed Himself to Moses in unmistakable terms. "God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you." Ex. 3:14; The name I AM indicates that God, Spirit, the Supreme Being, is the all-inclusive divine Mind, or consciousness. It is infinite individuality, the all-knowing, ever-present, and everlasting divine Principle, Life—the All-in-all. Mrs. Eddy writes, "In divine Science. God is one and All; and, governing Himself, He governs the universe." Miscellaneous Writings, p. 258;
God's supremacy and allness precludes the possibility of an opposite. Only what claims to be mortal thought or consciousness holds in itself the supposition of an opposite of God, good. This supposititious sense is the Satanic liar and father of lies, the carnal mind. Sin, disease, death, all inharmony, are its subjective states or conditions, which the divine truths of real being uncover and destroy. Hence the importance of putting God first and knowing that the infinite divine Mind and its idea is all that really exists.
