Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 70), "The testimony of the corporeal senses cannot inform us what is real and what is delusive, but the revelations of Christian Science unlock the treasures of Truth." That the "revelations of Christian Science unlock the treasures of Truth" has been proved to me through the years as these truths have dawned in consciousness and been for me a continuing and uplifting unfoldment. In gratitude for this Science I want to tell of one of the many experiences I have had that have taught me valued lessons.
Some years ago I was a guest at the Christian Science Benevolent Association at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, endeavoring to work out a physical problem that had interrupted my normal life and made me unable to finish a piece of work I had undertaken. One day, as I was leaving the office of a Christian Science practitioner who was prayerfully helping me, the practitioner asked me, with sudden emphasis, whether God could be thwarted or obstructed in His purpose. I said, "No."
"Then," asked my friend, "can man be thwarted in his purpose?"
