The following experience is one of many proofs I have had of the truth that all real being is embraced in divine Love. Some years ago while I was on my way to pick up my son and some other children at school, my car was hit by another car at an intersection and was turned over.

At the time of the impact, I felt no fear. These words came to me immediately: "God does not know anything about evil. There are no accidents in divine Mind. Man, who is the image and likeness of God, dwells in infinite light and harmony where God, who is his Father, dwells. Nothing harmful can ever happen to God's perfect idea." The most wonderful glow seemed to surround me. It was as if the windows of heaven had opened.

People came forward and righted the car for me, and although it was in bad condition, I was able to continue my drive to school. I was unhurt and suffered no sense of shock. Two boys, sixteen years of age, were the occupants of the other car. They were unhurt, although their car, after hitting mine, had crashed into a tree.

I shall never forget the wonderful protective love of the Father that enfolded me. In reality, God's children are never in danger. Man is forever as safe and secure as God Himself, who is tenderly guarding and caring for us. Nothing evil can happen to one who understands these truths.

I wish to express gratitude for many healings through Christian Science. For years I suffered from colds. Finally it became evident that I must establish a right sense of health and overcome my fear of colds. In Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read (p. 240), "Arctic regions, sunny tropics, giant hills, winged winds, mighty billows, verdant vales, festive flowers, and glorious heavens,—all point to Mind, the spiritual intelligence they reflect." How then could I fear that which reflects the spiritual intelligence of Mind, divine Love?

I turned from the picture of a mortal man who suffers from belief in extremes of temperature. In Isaiah we read (2:22), "Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?" This mortal man is not the man created in God's image and likeness. Paul says (Acts 17:28), "In him we live, and move, and have our being." My thought was lifted above the mortal picture, and the fear of colds disappeared. I was healed.

At the time my first child was born, the attending physician predicted that there would be at least eighteen hours of hard labor. I asked a practitioner for help. She advised me to read Hymn No. 49 in the Christian Science Hymnal. The words, "Let sense be dumb, let flesh retire," helped to release me from the mortal sense of childbirth. The last verse brought great peace. It reads,

Drop Thy still dews of quietness,
Till all our strivings cease;
Take from us now the strain and stress,
And let our ordered lives confess
The beauty of Thy peace.

The baby was born in four hours. When the second baby was born nine years later, the revelation which had accompanied my former experience was such a help that the birth took place without any pain at all. My heart was filled with gratitude and joy. It was all over in less than an hour, although the same doctor expected a severe experience.

It is with joy and deep gratitude that I give this testimony. I shall ever be grateful for the glorious truths I learned in the Christian Science Sunday School. I had my first healing, that of an abscessed ear, when I was a child. The pain was great. I visited a practitioner, who lived nearby, for treatment. While I was listening to the truths she declared, the abscess broke, and the healing came shortly. The Sunday School teachings have sustained and helped me in solving many problems. They were indeed a firm foundation on which to build.
