My husband and I had been searching for years for a religion which would express the allness of God and be to us a guide in daily life. We were also anxious to be able to pass on to our children such a religion, a faith which would give them comfort and help them in solving problems.

Eventually we heard of Christian Science, and I am sincerely grateful for all it has revealed to me through study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Whenever I have been willing to let go of material thinking and to acknowledge God's power and presence, my life has been blessed.

Shortly after hearing of this Science one of our children became seriously ill. In compliance with the law in England concerning children under sixteen, we had called a doctor, who diagnosed the illness as pneumonia. He said he could not promise the child would recover. No medicine or material aid was given. When the doctor withdrew, my husband went to the home of a Christian Science practitioner. Although it was midnight, this dear friend came to our home and promised us her help. She gave the child treatment and helped us overcome our fear. The boy recovered within two or three days. The doctor who had diagnosed the illness referred to this healing as a miracle.

Some time afterward the same child was brought home from school with a broken leg. In spite of the doctor's wishes to send the boy to hospital, my husband refused to do so, and a Christian Science practitioner was called. This devoted servant of Christ came every day to the home to see the little patient who, within three or four weeks, was able to go back to school and shortly afterward took part and won first prize in a running race.

During those days we had many financial problems to face. Once the position seemed desperate. Both my husband and I were incapacitated through illness and unable to get in touch with the outside world. Having read an article entitled "God's Law of Adjustment" in a pamphlet on Christian Science, I declared that indeed God was with us, there and then, acting as our loving Father wherever we were. Very shortly after this our needs were met several times over. Right through the years our needs have continued to be met in most wonderful ways.

In more recent years, with treatment by a practitioner, I have been healed of nervous depression, high blood pressure, and arthritis. I had been unable to walk for three months when the healing of the latter condition came. I can now walk easily and am very active.

Also, through a devoted practitioner's help, I have been able to obtain a home which meets my every need and where I am most happy and comfortable.

Through the study of the Bible and Science and Health I have learned to be less critical of my fellow beings. I have overcome, partly, many faults of character.

I am grateful for the protection that our two boys experienced during World War II with the help of Christian Science. One was in the Army and the other in the Navy.

My grateful thanks go to God for our Saviour and Exemplar, Christ Jesus, for Mrs. Eddy whose pure and consecrated life made us partakers of her great discovery, and also for the devoted and selfless practitioners, who are ever ready to help us solve our problems.
