TWO WHO STOOD BY
Exodus 17:8-13
No great deeds were theirs, no glory, acclaim,
And yet without them, Joshua had no fame
Nor Moses support for his downfalling hand
To halt bold Amalek's advance on the land.
They thought not their talents too great to be used
For the menial task they might well have refused;
But Aaron and Hur, with meekness and grace,
Stood by to perform their part in that place.
Whatever the challenge we face day by day,
Whether tasks great or small, may we as did they
Obey Love's command without rancor or pride,
Express our true being, and cast self aside.
