The title of today's sermon is "The Therapy of Thanksgiving"; that is, the healing power of giving thanks. I want to talk about the therapeutic values to be found in the reverent attitude, and the practice, of being thankful and using prayers of thanksgiving. By therapy I mean the healing power of being thankful; the healing, wholesome, restoring power that comes to you when you are thankful to God....Being thankful and giving thanks unto God has a healing power because it provides a perspective and a proportion for life for all of life....
There is also therapy in thanksgiving because being thankful heals the heart and the mind as well as the soul and the psyche. They, in turn, affect the body.....
