Finding Our True Identity

What a joyous new birth is our experience when we discover that only our spiritual nature or Godliness is true! The Christ, Truth, is ever present within the consciousness of each one of us. It is the spiritual sense of being, which is the only reality of our identity. It knows and expresses only God-bestowed qualities of goodness and love.

In the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy writes, "A knowledge of evil was never the essence of divinity or manhood." ^{Science and Health, p. 537;} How fresh our approach to living is when we accept this truth! Our true manhood has never known evil! The only thoughts that have ever belonged to us are Godlike ones. To accept God's thoughts as the substance and life of man is to find our true identity. To express these thoughts is to fulfill God's purpose for us, that we may have a happy and useful life.

All action that emanates from God, the Mind that is Love, expresses godliness. We must show forth the Mind that is God by refusing to allow evil any activity in our thought or experience.
