The Guiding Star of Healing

In Revelation, Christ Jesus is represented as saying: "He that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. ... And I will give him the morning star." Rev. 2:26–28; Here is a wonderful promise and a reward that all may have if they turn to God wholeheartedly. Christian Science likens Christ, Truth, to "the bright and morning star," 22:16 ; and the most precious gift we have is the understanding of its healing presence and power.

The understanding of Christ comes through spiritual inspiration and love. When we are truly humble in selfless devotion and repentant of our sins, Christ, Truth, reveals itself to us, showing us the way to a happier and more useful life. Understanding comes as each day we study the Bible with the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health. In connection with this work Mrs. Eddy says, "Mortal mind must part with error, must put off itself with its deeds, and immortal manhood, the Christ ideal, will appear." Science and Health, p. 430;

Christian Science acknowledges the ever-present Christ, which is demonstrating peace and goodwill among all mankind, lighting the way to the understanding of their perfect, spiritual selfhood, pure and holy. As we accept and cherish the Christ ideal, make it our companion, it becomes our own; we become wedded to it. Recognizing the power and presence of God brings healing, supply, employment, home, and harmonious relationships.
