I am thankful for the many blessings that have come my way through Christian Science, both in healings and protection.

One healing experienced by our oldest daughter, then in junior high school, is particularly outstanding to me. The school nurse telephoned saying that I should come quickly and carry my daughter to the hospital, for she feared that she had a broken ankle. The ankle was swollen, and the child was in great pain. I hurried to the school but not to the hospital.

I brought her home, and for an hour we prayed and studied together. We read from the Bible the healing of the boy with the dumb spirit and the words of the Master to the boy's father, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth" (Mark 9:23). We read from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 401), "If faith in the truth of being, which you impart mentally while destroying error, causes chemicalization (as when an alkali is destroying an acid), it is because the truth of being must transform the error to the end of producing a higher manifestation." While I was singing to her Hymn No. 412 from the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins, "O dreamer, leave thy dreams for joyful waking," the pain subsided and she fell asleep peacefully. The swelling also went down, and the second day she was back in school, much to the amazement of the nurse.
