From a lifetime of acquaintance with Christian Science I have...
From a lifetime of acquaintance with Christian Science I have many blessings and healings to acknowledge.
I have always been especially grateful for my parents' complete reliance on Christian Science during my childhood. Physical problems were met quickly, and I early learned to look to God as the only physician and as "my best, my ever Friend" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 225). It has been a joy to grow up without ointments, pills, injections, tobacco, or intoxicants—to experience the purity of a Christian Science home. Mrs. Eddy says, "A scientific mental method is more sanitary than the use of drugs, and such a mental method produces permanent health" (Science and Health, p. 79).
During my teen years, when I became more aware of the contradictions of material sense and the fallibility of human nature, this religion based on Love and Principle provided me with stability and inspiration which could not be found in any other way.
