I have had Christian Science all my life, and I attend the Christian Science Sunday School. When I was five years old, I had a great physical healing. I was so very ill that my parents were afraid and took me to the hospital. The doctors said the trouble was a blocked bile duct. I was brought home from the hospital, and other doctors were called. They said I would have to return to the hospital, because if the bile duct did not open, an operation would be necessary. But I begged my mother to call a Christian Science practitioner; and she did. We gave up medical treatment, and I was quickly and permanently healed through Christian Science. The practitioner said all we really needed was to let Truth operate in our consciousness. She pointed out that Mrs. Eddy says on page 167 of Science and Health, "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized."

I am now thirteen years old, and just recently I had another wonderful demonstration, this time concerning my arm. Error tried to tell me it might be broken, although I had not fallen. I carried it in a sling for several days. It became worse, so we called the same practitioner for help. I asked her if a physical diagnosis might be helpful, but she told me Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 370), "A physical diagnosis of disease— since mortal mind must be the cause of disease—tends to induce disease." She gave me another citation from the textbook (p. 52): "The 'man of sorrows' best understood the nothingness of material life and intelligence and the mighty actuality of all-inclusive God, good. These were the two cardinal points of Mind-healing, or Christian Science, which armed him with Love." We also studied Hymn No. 53 from the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins,
