Walking in the Right Direction

[Of special interest to children]

Alice called Mother in the middle of the night. "Mother, my ear hurts," she explained as Mother came into her room. Alice moved over so that her mother could get into bed with her, as Mother sometimes did when the two of them talked about Christian Science and what it teaches about God. Alice was always eager to talk about God, for this made anything that was unhappy go away.

Mother reached over and took Alice's hand, and at the same time she said, "I think we'll take a walk."

Alice wondered what that meant, but she remained quiet, knowing she would understand in a minute.
