The Reverend John M. Jackson Park Hill Christian Church in the Arkansas Gazette Little Rock, Arkansas
Our popular concept of a church as a "building only" in which persons, "members," go for Sunday school and worship sometimes presents us with a real problem. ... It encourages us to isolate the church from the world in which it is found....
We cannot confine church to the building in which the church (persons) comes to study and worship. It is often convenient, however, for us to do so and for us to see church as it is confined to four walls. Then it is given boundaries and is contained and can be accused of meddling if it dares to exert its influence outside its own four walls.
