My deep love for and gratitude to our Father-Mother God...

My deep love for and gratitude to our Father-Mother God prompt me to write this testimony. What a wonderful privilege it is to have been reared along with two sisters and a brother in the teachings of Christian Science! For this privilege I am profoundly grateful.

My husband and I were doing some work in the yard one day. He was called away, so I decided I would help him by continuing the work. As I did so, I thought I felt something move inside me. The movement was so slight that I continued with the work. Later the lower part of my abdomen started to pain and feel very uncomfortable. I got to the point where I couldn't eat but would just lie around. I worked to see the nothingness of the error as we are taught in Christian Science; but after a few days, when I wasn't healed, I called a practitioner, who began to give me treatment.

She gave me many references to study. One is from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and reads (p. 151), "Every function of the real man is governed by the divine Mind." My true selfhood, as the practitioner explained, is that real man. Another very helpful reference is (ibid., p. 400), "By lifting thought above error, or disease, and contending persistently for truth, you destroy error."
