"Let it rather be healed"

In the Epistle to the Hebrews we find these encouraging words: "Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; and make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed." Hebr. 12:11–13;

Is not this what Christian Science is today demonstrating for all of those individuals who are turning to God as the source of their thoughts and the sustainer of their well-being? But the pictures presenting man as old, sick, and helpless are constantly being thrown upon the screen of human consciousness.

Today material efforts being made to meet the need of the elderly tend to condition public opinion to accept predictions of old age, sickness, and helplessness and to acquiesce in the consequent necessity for enormously expanded medical measures and health regimentation to be paid for through taxation.
