It is with sincere gratitude to God that I offer this testimony of healing through Christian Science. While my children and I were visiting in the home of my parents, who are not Christian Scientists, I had the opportunity to prove the truth of the saying that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Our young daughter became quite ill and manifested a fever so extreme that it alarmed my parents. I telephoned my husband, asked a practitioner for treatment for the child, and began to pray for the spiritual wisdom to be able to handle the opposition of my parents.

By late afternoon my father, who had periodically gone to the girl's bed to check her temperature, became so concerned he demanded that I take her to a doctor. At this point I felt the only thing for me to do was to pick her up and return over three hundred miles to our home; but I knew that if I were to leave, I would be giving my parents more cause for alarm. I continued to and the words of Wendell Phillips, "one with God is a majority," quoted by Mrs. Eddy on page 245 of "Miscellaneous Writings," sustained me and enabled me to take a calm and loving stand for Truth in the face of such strong opposition. As I was in the middle of a discussion with my father, the child entered the room and asked if she could stay up and play and read some of her books. The fever was gone when she entered the room. We were able to finish our summer visit, and the child was completely free to swim and jump on the trampoline daily.

Another healing for which I feel a deep sense of gratitude is that of the removal of three growths from our child's leg around the ankle. An increasing awareness of the inseparability of God and man, Mind and idea, grew in my thought and lifted it to the healing Truth. A month or so later, when I was putting the child to bed, I realized I had rubbed over her leg and that the growths were no longer there.
