FIRST TESTIMONY
How could trite words begin to tell
of the gratitude filling my heart?
Which blessing should be the first expressed,
where could I possibly start?
How could I tell this expectant group
of a character gently refined
by Love, that most patient of sculptors
molding each thought to Mind?
How could I tell of the illnesses
overcome through deep yearning prayer
to our Father, whose tender healing love
is manifest everywhere?
How could I tell of the countless hours
spent fighting depression and woe,
till armed with spiritual Truth and Love
I found that there was no foe?
What I would say, would it help someone
no matter the words which I chose?
"Yes, it will, my child," said a still small voice;
so I thanked our dear God—and rose!
