Neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him (Isa. 64:4)
In this verse the construction of the original is very condensed, allowing various possible renderings. Smith suggests: "No eye has seen A god apart from thee, who works for those who wait for him"; and Moffatt: "No eye has ever seen...the mighty deeds that thou wilt do for those who look to thee."
It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers (Isa. 40:22)
