The physical healing I should like to relate occurred when I was living in a small town in Arizona. I became quite ill, and a great sense of fear seemed to overcome the family. A local doctor was called, but he seemed unable to diagnose my case. He recommended that I be sent to a larger town several hundred miles away. It took three doctors three days to diagnose my case as spinal meningitis and a mastoid. A member of the family who was a Christian Science practitioner had been alerted to my condition. However, she could not take my case until I had been released by the doctors. This they did within a day or so with the admonition that my chances for survival were practically nonexistent.

My relative took me into her home, and I responded immediately to the Word of Truth. My appetite had been very poor up to this time; in fact, I was literally skin and bones. We spent several hours each day reading and studying the Bible Lesson as outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly, sharing our insights, and delving into its spiritual meaning. As a result of this spiritual feast, I regained my normal appetite, and all vestiges of the illness disappeared. To this day my health has been excellent, and I have proved that health is part of my birthright as a child of God.

My thanks go to God for the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School to the age of twenty years, membership in The Mother Church, and active participation in a branch church. I am deeply grateful for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mary Baker Eddy for giving this wonderful revelation to the world.
