Someone has said: "Trifles discover character more than actions of seeming importance; what one is in little things, he will be in great." So the little irritations of life become a test of what we really are. Too often we fail to conquer the trifles, when, if we did, we might be taking on bigger and more significant conquests.
I believe that irritations about the little annoyances of life can be controlled. Did you ever notice that if you let your temper fly unthrottled, it is harder to throttle it the next time, and before long you are making a public spectacle of yourself? Worry, griping and nagging can become habitual. . . .
