"A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing," writes Mrs. Eddy on page 449 of Science and Health. Whatever the human need may be, the first steps toward meeting it are purification of thought and the desire to know God better.

Through prayerful work in Christian Science I have been blessed by physical healings, protection from accidents, a happy career, congenial companionship, and a home.

Some years ago the thought of taking the Christian Science Nurses Training Course was presented to me. I wrote to The Mother Church for the necessary information but decided to go on as before with my work and activity in a branch church, although without a sense of complete fulfillment. Two years elapsed with no apparent progress toward the solution of this problem of place. I earnestly asked myself if I thought that my heavenly Father would leave me to drift aimlessly without His loving guidance and care. The answer was a vehement No. I recalled my previous inquiry regarding the course in nursing and could now see clearly that my duty was to enroll at once. I soon found myself training in one of the Christian Science Houses in England.
