Over the years I have learned to be grateful for testing times, or opportunities to prove the power of Mind over so-called material resistance. Paul says (I Thess. 5:21), "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
At one time I became ill with acute lung congestion, heart difficulties, and the cessation of functioning of other viscera; each of these conditions caused much physical distress. A Christian Science practitioner was called and was asked to help me through prayer. This faithful one worked day and night for my release. Because my condition seemed critical, my wife thought it best that the practitioner come to the house. I am told that I greeted her with these words: "This can be proved." My hopeful assurance that the illness could be proved unreal never wavered and was a stepping-stone toward healing.
