The Healing Art of True Mediation
A walk with Jesus, even along hot dusty roads, was a privilege for the disciples. With him at their side, a fishing boat became a house of prayer. The disciples gloried in Jesus as the prophesied Messiah, but they also loved him as friend, brother, trusted Master.
Mrs. Eddy's admiration for Jesus was boundless. Her reverent and close Bible study, inspired by divine logic and revelation, led her to discover something of world-shaking import: a distinction between the pure and good man Jesus, of earth years brief, and Christ, the eternal God-power animating him. Mrs. Eddy has clarified the fact that, despite his unique conception and birth, it was not the personal Jesus but his embodiment of the Christ, Truth, the reflection of God, which healed sickness and sin. Christian Science holds out the comforting assurance that the expression of Christliness is forever individualized, yet forever whole. The radiant reflection of God's own selfhood is available to you and to me today to terminate the dark trials of mortal existence.
Who has not at some time echoed the cry of the Apostle Paul: "The good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.... O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?" Rom. 7:19,24;
