When Christian Science was presented to me about twenty years ago, I was suffering from a virus disease, supposedly incurable; I had consulted the greatest physicians in Paris, where I lived at that time, and all treatment had failed. I immediately took up the study of this beautiful religion, and I was healed in one treatment by a practitioner.

Some years later when I was living abroad, I was preparing to go to France to take class instruction when, some days before my departure, I was awakened in the night by an overall illness—fever, vomiting, and weakness being the symptoms. During the few days which preceded my departure, my condition grew worse in spite of my efforts to dispel this false suggestion and to replace it with the truth that the child of God cannot be the victim of evil. I could take no food, and my husband was not willing to let me set off in this condition. I had prepared for this event with so much joy that I cried out to God with all the strength left to me, and my husband consented to my going, entrusting me to God, our Father-Mother.

I traveled with a woman friend who was also taking class instruction. In the airplane the hostess wanted to administer a drug to support me; but my friend and I held firmly to the truth, and she quoted passages from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, including this one (p. 302) : "It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his." Another is on page 259, "Man is not absorbed in Deity, and man cannot lose his individuality, for he reflects eternal Life." These magnificent statements sustained me.

On our arrival a friend was waiting for us, and she was so disturbed by my appearance that she telephoned our teacher to protect me. The next day we presented ourselves to our teacher, who allowed me to speak of my mortal beliefs, then gently and firmly said to me, "My dear, you are coming to Life!"

I slowly repeated, "I am coming to Life."

These words suddenly had a profound meaning and awakened me; in the twinkling of an eye the false belief about life was changed, and I caught a glimpse of Life as God, Spirit, and not in matter. This passage of Mrs. Eddy's on page 425 of Science and Health came to my thought: "Correct material belief by spiritual understanding, and Spirit will form you anew." And Spirit did form me anew ! I began to take nourishment, and each day I felt myself becoming stronger; and my heart overflowed with joy and gratitude.

For these healings and for the transformation of my thinking and the purification of some false traits of character, I am infinitely grateful to God. I am grateful too for Christ Jesus, our Master, and for the promised Comforter, Christian Science, revealed to Mrs. Eddy.

It is so good to be a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School! I have learned to turn to God, to Truth, when a problem comes about and to get quick results.

I am an eighth grader in school and have not missed a day of school. I thank God for this, for without our applying the truth that we are taught in Christian Science this would have been impossible. At a school PTA meeting I was presented with a perfect attendance award for my first six years.

I should like to tell of the healing I had of the measles. A lot of children in our school were absent from school with this disease. One afternoon I came home from school, and a little later I discovered that my entire body was discolored. I ran in and told my mother to look at me. Instantly she told me that in reality this was not true about me or any of my friends. She told me I was God's perfect idea.

A practitioner was called, and she quieted my mother's fear in quoting the truth to her. The practitioner told my mother to tell me that when I was conscious of discomfort I should declare that God is everywhere, filling all space, and that there is no other power.

I slept well all night, and the next morning I ran to my mother and told her to look at me. I was completely free from all discoloring. I never did feel bad during this time. I got ready and went to school, not having to miss a day.

I have been healed of other so-called children's diseases, the effects of a bicycle accident, ant bites, wasp stings, and stomach upsets. I was protected when I fell from a swiftly moving car. I have been able to find lost things and to see honesty demonstrated among my friends.

I have been attending a Christian Science Sunday School since I was three. I am now fourteen.

My brother and I have received lots of protection from our Father-Mother God. I am a seventh grader and twelve years old and have only missed a day and a half of school since I started. On this half day of school I missed, I was healed quickly of burns. I was burned early one morning, and error seemed to scare me for a moment. When my mother got to me, she had to put the fire out of my hair and my clothing, and my face felt as though it were burning.

A practitioner was called, and she told us that a spiritual idea of God cannot be burned and that I am actually a spiritual idea. My mother was unafraid and kept declaring to me that in truth I had not been burned. I was read to from our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Hearing the truth read made me unafraid, and the pain finally left completely.

My face was red at first, but by the middle of the morning I was completely free, although I had to cut my hair real short, for most of it was burned off. When a relative came home for lunch there was no evidence of my having been burned, and I went to school in the afternoon free from it all.

I am grateful to be a regular member of a Christian Science Sunday School.

I am grateful to verify these demonstrations of our son and daughter. I received spiritual growth from each of these healings. We have proven our immunity from false laws many times when we have turned radically to God to understand man's at-one-ment with His law of eternal harmony and health.

I am grateful for the daily prayerful work of all Christian Scientists, for church activity, for our practitioners, for the privilege of working in Sunday School, for Mother Church and branch church membership, and for the great blessing of class instruction.
