It is said in the Bible, "A little child shall lead them" (Isa. 11:6). This proved true in my case, and I am thankful for the great good that came to me and mine after I was led to take up the study of Christian Science through my child's healing.

She was found to be seriously ill with tuberculosis, and I was told she would have to be removed to a sanatorium. About this time we moved to another area, and the neighbors next door were Christian Scientists. These friends explained a little of their religion to us, and my daughter learned and accepted that God was her Physician. However, it was a state law that there had to be confinement in a sanatorium for this type of illness.

I learned that I could call a Christian Science practitioner for help, which I did, and the practitioner comforted me with the assurance that God is ever present and that therefore He would be present in the sanatorium. After the child was admitted and examined, I was told they would have to proceed with an operation to collapse the left lung. This was against our wishes. Her brother and I worked prayerfully the very best we knew how (Christian Science was still very new to us), and the practitioner gave the child treatment. It was found the operation would be unnecessary.
