Many blessings have been received by my family during the years we have been studying Christian Science. I should like to express my gratitude at this time for Mary Baker Eddy and for all her wonderful works which have enabled us to further understand God and man's relationship to Him.

The healing truths brought to us by Mrs. Eddy sustained me during a period of time when I was severely ill with dropsy. I was unable to lie down and could sleep only in an upright position. For some time I was unable to be left alone for a minute. It was necessary for me to be cared for twenty-four hours a day, and it seemed nearly impossible for me to be looked after at home since my wife had to go out to work to support the home and our two children. But Love continued to meet our every need, and there was always someone to stay with me. A visiting Christian Science nurse showed those looking after me how to give me the attention I needed.

The following statement from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was particularly helpful at this time (p. 373): "Establish the scientific sense of health, and you relieve the oppressed organ. The inflammation, decomposition, or deposit will abate, and the disabled organ will resume its healthy functions." The healing was not a quick one, but it was complete.
