The Power of the Divine Nature

What gives one the power to heal spiritually? There are many people who are morally upright who do not heal. Why don't they? Because the moral individual has still to advance beyond the belief in the human sense of life to the understanding of the divine sense of it where sin and sickness are unknown. Understanding Spirit as All and matter as nothing—since it is the opposite of Spirit—makes it possible for one to express the divine nature, the Christ, which God bestows upon His man, His likeness. And the divine nature heals.

Christian Science assures us that all can attain the divine nature through the demonstration of their real manhood. Jesus was the Way-shower. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy says, "The divine nature was best expressed in Christ Jesus, who threw upon mortals the truer reflection of God and lifted their lives higher than their poor thought-models would allow,—thoughts which presented man as fallen, sick, sinning, and dying." Science and Health, p. 250;

To what extent are you and I demonstrating the divine nature? It belongs to us eternally, for man is God's reflection, and the false concept of us, which the physical senses present, can never change the nature which God gives us. But we need now to comprehend that perfect nature in its Science, love it, express it, and utilize it to obliterate every belief that denies the purity of God's man.
