Signs of the Times
The Reverend Robert H. Hamill, D.D. Dean of Marsh Chapel Boston University in The Link, a Protestant magazine for Armed Forces personnel Washington, District of Columbia
[A] major issue of campus morality [is] the sexual revolution. ...Students live under the intense pressures of our sex-saturated society.... Clothing styles, the Madison Avenue exploitation of sex, the movies and literature add up to intense erotic stimulation....
The remedy is not to turn young people loose to their passions but to reform society so there is less hypocrisy. This will require that society control the sexual stimulation in advertising, restrain erotic material in the press and movies and the whole public relations culture, and reform the economic order which exploits sex for its profit.
