In the Bible we read (John 8:32), "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." This passage had a wonderful meaning for me about three years ago when I severely injured my finger. The nail was knocked off, and the flesh appeared to be smashed and the bone damaged. I quickly covered the finger with my hand and declared truths from the Christian Science textbook. Science and Health by our Leader.

After washing the finger I called a practitioner for treatment. She quoted from the textbook (p. 424):

"Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony.
