THIS QUIET READING ROOM
O quiet
room of rest and meditation,
Of hope and silent prayer!
How very close you are to God,
How much you have to share!
Your sheltering walls hold treasures
That lead to happiness,
To beauty, and to Love's perfection
And protectiveness.
Here we find the welcoming hand
Of friendship, sincere and warm.
Here is the comforting refuge,
A haven from the storm.
Here the despairing may find hope;
Here strife and conflicts cease,
For this is a sanctuary—
A dwelling place of peace.
Here we feel God's living presence;
Here Love stands ready at the door.
Here is the undivided garment
That the Master wore.
Here is the power and the glory,
And divine Love gives the key
That unlocks the kingdom
And sets the whole world free.
