I have had many proofs of God's...
I have had many proofs of God's infinite, loving, healing care and protection through the years during which I have been a student of Christian Science. It is about fifty years since I began to study this great truth. When I think back on the many demonstrations I have had in Science I just don't know where to begin writing about them.
Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 390), "When the first symptoms of disease appear, dispute the testimony of the material senses with divine Science." Many times I have found this advice of great help, especially in time of accidents.
A few years ago while I was working in the bush piling up some heavy maple logs my thumb became caught between two logs, and the end of the thumb was pinched off behind the nail to the bone. I went away by myself declaring the truth, and this statement from Science and Health came to my thought: "When the unthinking lobster loses its claw, the claw grows again" (p. 489). The growth in this case was a little slow, but the thumb grew back to normal shape with a normal nail.
