One of the joyous experiences...
One of the joyous experiences of a Christian Scientist is the expression of gratitude, and I wish to express my gratitude for the blessings that Science has brought into my life. It has opened for me the "windows of heaven" (Mai. 3:10).
It was my privilege when a little girl to listen to many discussions about religions. As a result I formed a concept that Christian Science was a religion to which one could turn for help in time of great trouble or, perhaps, when there was no other help. Later I found this to be true. I learned that Science is an ever-available, practical, and all-sufficient help in overcoming any difficulty, disease, or discord.
The first wonderful experience I had through Christian Science treatment was an instantaneous healing of measles. My father had taken me to visit my sister, who was attending college. It was almost on our arrival that the disease was manifested, and I had a high fever. I was isolated in a hotel room. We were new students of Christian Science, but I was allowed to choose a practitioner rather than a doctor.
