Christian Science has been my only physician for many years. It has also been my only help in times of sorrow, lack, and discord. The earnest study of this Science has brought much happiness and good into my life, and I am humbly grateful.

About three years ago, while serving temporarily as First Reader in a group of Christian Scientists meeting informally to hold services, I experienced a physical healing. One Wednesday evening, during the singing of the last hymn at the testimony meeting, I suddenly lost consciousness and fell, striking my head twice and injuring it. When I became conscious I was strengthened and cheered as I heard this earnest group singing hymns aloud, voicing the truth, and expressing their loving support in many ways.

The following day I felt quite well, but the next day I was in a serious condition, suffering from the effects of the injury to my head. The thought of passing on presented itself to me; but even in my dazed condition, I knew that God is man's Life and that God's purpose for man cannot be unfulfilled. A practitioner was called upon for treatment, and with her patient, effective help I was up in a few days and healed in three weeks.
