It is with much gratitude for all the blessings I have received since first taking up the study of Christian Science that I write this testimony.

I have been protected many times and have been healed of severe colds, which returned each winter, and of nervousness which kept me seated when I longed to give a testimony at the Wednesday meetings of a branch church. Lost articles have been found through the application of Science; but far greater than all these blessings are the peace and confidence which are gained through the study of the Bible and the writings of our beloved Leader.

One evening my foot was sprained when I was knocked down by a bicycle; after I retired that night the foot was very painful, and I prayed for spiritual light. Suddenly these words from "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy came to my thought (p. 185): "Self-renunciation of all that constitutes a so-called material man, and the acknowledgment and achievement of his spiritual identity as the child of God, is Science that opens the very flood-gates of heaven; whence good flows into every avenue of being, cleansing mortals of all uncleanness, destroying all suffering, and demonstrating the true image and likeness."
