THEY KNEW IT NOT

Daniel 3:19–29

When wonder and awe were voiced
By those who came to see
Matter's supposed force
Consume the three,

Untouched, unharmed, unmoved
By evil's dark decree,
They who had gone in bound,
Now calmly walked out free!

Fear is the fire that burns,
Doubt the flame to beware.
They put their trust in God. O sing
Praise for His loving care.

If fear or doubt should tempt,
Or evil's trap ensnare,
Let us with gratitude recall

The three who scarcely seemed aware
Theirs was a trial at all:
Shadrach, Meshach, Abed-nego.
