Divine Law and the College Student

Christian Science is not a human philosophy competing with the religions of the world, but the central truth of being, inspiring religion with its original and divine essence. It is not new but is as ageless as God. In fact, it is the very law of God, divine Mind, through which Mind reveals, explains, and demonstrates itself to humanity. A clear recognition of this fact aids one in the successful demonstration of this Science.

The unfoldment of this celestial law, or spiritual actuality of being, can be traced in the Scriptures from Genesis through Revelation. The Bible is a record of the great good experienced by reverent men and women who conformed to God's law. The Bible also honestly records the unsavory and baneful effects of deviating from this law.

God's law was fully demonstrated in the life of Christ Jesus, who said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil."^{Matt. 5:17;} It was Jesus' mission to point out by means of spiritual healing that total conformity with Christ—strict obedience to the law of divine Truth and Love—is the only way whereby men can experience the reality of being.
